Stair Lifts Here
Don't let age or disability keep you from living your own independent life style. Modern stair lifts mean you can easily go up and down stairs in your own home whenever you choose.
A stair lift can be used in almost any home with stairs. Some are even designed for outdoor use.
Tavel With Ease
A stair lift is a special moving chair system that is installed on your home's staircase.
The chair has a motor that will safely and smoothly carry you up and down the stairs.
Whenever you please you simply sit in the chair and active the start switch.
The stair lifts here have an unobtrusive track that easily attaches to the wall of most any staircase. The comfortable seat or wheel chair platform rides on that track and carries you safely up and down the stairs whenever you please.

You can use these stairlifts unaided, so you maintain your independence.
With most stair lifts the seat will be facing face sideways as it travels up and down the staircase. If the user has a disability that makes that impractical many lifts have seats designed so the passenger can ride always facing forward. With other models the chair can be conviently moved to either positon.,
Stair Lift Controls
Stairlift controls are often a panel of push buttons, or a joystick. Where the controls are located should be considered. For example, the user may be left-handed or right-handed, or you may not have full use of one hand. The controls must be where they are comfortably accessible.
While all stair lifts perform the same basic service, there are differences in design and engineering. There are four kinds of drive designs:
1. Cable - Cable drive systems have a steel cable that moves the lift chair. They are often used with stair lifts designed for very heavy passengers.
2. Screw - In this design a screw device is used as the lifting mechanism and it is driven by a rechargeable battery.
3. Rack & Pinion - With this model the ride is quite smooth, but it demands more maintaince and gear teeth can be a danger if the gear teeth are exposed.
4. Rail / Track - The track is secured to the stairs and the lift rides on the track.
AmeriGlide Stairlifts utilize a state of the art cable drive system. The lift has been designed so the cable does not move, never needs lubrication, and does not rub against itselft. With this design you have a safe, quiet, maintenance free stair lift. The system uses a steel aircraft cable with a breaking strength of 4200 lbs, eliminating safety and capacity issues.
Many manufacturers use a rack and pinion (meaning gear and teeth) drive system. Those systems must be cleaned and lubricated regularly to prevent damage to the components. Gear teeth can also be hazardous should a child reach into the rack area.
Seat That Swivels
Your stair lift will have a seat that swivels so you can safely access the upper landing of home's stairs. There are a few different seat designs with associated accessories.
AmeriGlide stairlifts were designed and engineered from start to finish with ease of homeowner installation as a prime objective. The heaviest part of the lift is 70 pounds allowing for a true one man installation.
The design has eliminated the need for any stripping or connecting of individual wires and supplies all required hardware exactly where needed, eliminating the need for annoying hardware packages
Another wonderful feature of these stair lifts is that little or no maintaince is required. Once your system is installed it will only need an occasional dusting. With a feather duster you can take care of the chore while riding up or down in the stair lift seat.
